Coalition cuts target health bodies: report

The new Coalition Government has allegedly begun taking the axe to health agencies it deems unnecessary or over-funded, including one established to tackle the burden of obesity.

According to a News Limited report, the government has decided to disestablish the Australian National Preventative Health Agency (ANPHA), which was set up to counter the growing cost of obesity, alcohol abuse and tobacco use.

Budgets could also be slashed for the National Health
