College moves to help more IMGs gain fellowship

The RACGP is beefing up its ‘practice eligible pathway’ in a bid to improve pass rates for hundreds of IMGs sitting the fellowship exam each year.

The announcement comes at the same time as news that just 52% of candidates passed the latest Key Feature Problem (KFP), a core part of the exam.

The college has long known that IMGs on the practice eligible pathway, which requires one year working in general practice in Australia, perform worse on the KFP than registrars, although it will not release data to show how wide the gap is.
