A socialite Sydney psychiatrist caught practising without professional indemnity insurance for 20 months has been fined almost $5000 for his disorganisation.

Dr Robert Hampshire (pictured), a well known bon vivant in the city in the '80s and '90s, and former owner of one of its most glamorous harbourfront mansions, Altona, has had a long history of appearances before disciplinary bodies, including for pethidine addiction.
