Competency checks for doctors inevitable, regulator warns

Regular competency testing for doctors is not a matter of if, but when, says the new boss of the Medical Council of NSW.

Dr Greg Kesby (pictured, right), who became the regulator’s new president this month, says the idea that doctors are never retested once they receive their qualification is “untenable” and specialist colleges are already preparing for the reality of revalidation.
