Concern over Vic's medicinal cannabis plan

Doctors have sounded the alarm about the proposed legalisation of medicinal cannabis in Victoria, claiming public health questions remain unanswered. 

On Tuesday, the Victorian Government announced plans to introduce laws to enable the state to regulate and manufacture medicinal cannabis for patients with certain health conditions from 2017 — a move that will require approval from the Federal Government.

Under the scheme, hospital-based specialists will be able to prescribe the drug to patients who have an approved medical diagnoses for treatment, including severe cancer pain,
