Coronary patients miss out on preventive care

Most patients who present to hospital with acute coronary syndrome miss out on basic preventive care before they are discharged, a study finds.

The study of 2300 acute coronary syndrome survivors in Australia and New Zealand showed almost three-quarters did not receive routinely recommended preventive care in hospital, comprising a combination of medications, lifestyle advice and referral to rehabilitation.
