Corticosteroid lesson still to be learnt

Australian pharmacists need more education in the use of topical corticosteroids (TCS) for the treatment of paediatric atopic dermatitis, research by the Australasian College of Dermatologists says.

The research shows that the significant knowledge gaps about the use and safety of TCS in pAD in pharmacists contributes to poor treatment concordance for patients but these attitudes appear modifiable through targeted, evidence based education delivered by a dermatologist.
