Cough meds still being sold for kids

Some pharmacists are still selling cough and cold medicine for use in young children six weeks after it was banned by the national drug and therapeutics watchdog, according to the NPS.

Reports to the NPS Medicines Line from concerned consumers reveal that pharmacists are giving conflicting advice on access to cough and cold medication for children.
Some pharmacists are continuing to sell products for use in those under six, while others are refusing to sell the drugs without a prescription – both going against the new Therapeutic Goods Administration rules
