A longer interval between COVID-19 vaccine doses for primary school–aged children could maximise the benefits and reduce side effects, a leading paediatric infectious diseases specialist says.

The TGA on Sunday approved Pfizer’s vaccine — at one-third of the adolescent and adult dose — with a proposed three-week interval between the two shots.
