CSIRO launches new flexi diet
CSIRO has launched a new diet that promotes intermittent fasting three days a week with the support of meal-replacement shakes.
Called the Flexi diet, it appears to be a more intensive version of the 5:2 Diet popularised by British doctor and journalist Michael Mosley.
The latest diet is based on the results of a 16-week trial where an average of 11kg was lost and participants achieved improvements in cholesterol, insulin resistancand blood pressure, says CSIRO research dietititan Dr Jane Bowen.
