CW commercial pulled

Leading discount banner group Chemist Warehouse has pulled their Father’s Day commercial following complaints received by the Advertising Standards Board.

The complaint relates to a campaign where a young boy wearing a fake moustache and bow tie stands next to a man holding a pipe, with text saying ‘Smell Like a Sir This Father’s day.’

The complainant took issue with the child image being used in an ad featuring an image of tobacco use.

“It almost looks as though the man is offering the pipe to him,” the complainant said
