Dabigatran results ‘enormously reassuring’

A landmark anticoagulant study in a real-world setting has found dabigatran significantly reduces risk of ischaemic stroke, intracranial haemorrhage, MI and death compared with warfarin, although it may lead to greater GI bleeding in the elderly.
