Daughters drink mums under the table

Female alcohol use has dramatically increased over a generation, with young women today taking to the bottle much more than their mothers did at the same age, a Queensland study finds.

Analysing data from an Australian birth cohort study that covered 1053 women over two generations, the study authors from Queensland University assessed generational changes in female alcohol consumption to find some concerning trends.
