Deloitte denies King review ‘conflict of interest’

Deloitte has refuted the Guild’s claim that it has a conflict of interest because it compiled King review reports for two major stakeholders.

One report was commissioned by the Department of Health and the other was on behalf of Chemist Warehouse.

The Guild issued a statement this week in which it noted a “fundamental conflict of interest”.

National president George Tambassis said: “There appears to have been a serious breakdown in the review’s due diligence in the engagement of this consultancy and a failure to be transparent.”

Asked to comment, Deloitte said its work for the panel was limited to gathering literature on comparable models in place in overseas jurisdictions.

It said its remit was also to conduct a comparative analysis the 6CPA model and other international models.

“A literature review is an evaluative report of existing
