Dementia patients denied right to sex

Nursing home residents with dementia are being denied the right to have sex because of ageism and staff fears of legal reprisals, Melbourne researchers say. 

Writing this week in the Journal of Medical Ethics, they argue that even people with moderate dementia often retain the capacity — and desire — to consent to sex.
