Depression patients fall between GP-pharmacist gap

Patients are falling between a GP-pharmacist gap because of lack of communication about complementary medicines such as St John’s Wort (SJW).

Melbourne researchers say one of the biggest concerns is that patients rarely disclose their use of the herbal medication.

And GPs rarely ask patients being treated for depression if they are using it, despite its wide use and potential interaction with SSRIs.
