Discharge rarely sign of sexual abuse
Vaginal discharge in young girls is rarely indicative of sexual abuse – far more commonly it is benign and resolves with simple hygiene advice and antibiotics, a British study finds.
In a review of cases spanning 15 years, gynaecologists reported that vulvovaginitis was responsible for recurrent vaginal discharge in 82% of patients aged 12 and below.
