Thiazide diuretics may be no better than placebo at preventing recurrence of kidney stones, a study suggests, but doctors say it’s too early to change clinical care.
Swiss researchers found that over three years, patients randomly assigned to a daily diuretic dose had similar rates of calcium-based kidney stone recurrence as patients given a placebo.
