Diverse uses for clever clips
PAPERCLIPS were invented for the red-hot task of draining subungual haematomas, but Dr Simon Pilbrow of Rosebud, Vic, reminds us these bendable beauties are much more versatile than that.
He has used paperclips to pin back scalp hair during excisions; reattach a spectacle arm when the screw fell out; repair his doctor’s bag handle; make a cuff link; remove wax from hearing aids; remove stuck punch biopsy specimens; and point out fine details for patients on scans or computer screens.
