Doctors call for more nurses in aged-care homes

GP says the level of clinical rigour has diminished due to lack of skilled staff

Some aged-care homes are allegedly restricting the use of incontinence pads to three per resident per day in order to save money and placing time limits on how long it should take to get a person out of bed, showered and dressed.

A Four Corners investigation also found examples of other facilities serving party sausage rolls, curry puffs and marshmallows for dessert to residents who have paid upwards of $300,000 for a place in an aged-care home.
