Doctors divided on gay marriage support

As the issue gathered heat and the medical profession became increasingly vocal last week, the online poll of more than 200 MO readers found that 56% approved of gay marriage while 44% were opposed.

The online poll was taken over two days following the resignation of Victoria’s deputy chief psychiatrist, Professor Kuruvilla George, from the board of the state’s Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission amid criticism after he signed a Senate inquiry submission arguing gay marriage was a threat to public health.
