Doctors' misery linked to non-clinical work

Doctors across Australia rate their life satisfaction a 7.5 out of 10, but spending work time away from patients seems to bring them down, a national survey suggests.

Researchers questioned more than 8000 doctors and found that those reporting doing the most hours each week on education, administrative and management work rated their life satisfaction significantly lower than those doing less non-clinical work.
