Doctors, prepare to cough up extra cash to pay for your rego

There's a 3% increase looming, but it could be worse: nurses and pharmacists face hikes higher than the rate of indexation

Doctors will have to pay $764 for their medical registration from October, up from $742 last year.

The increase of 3% is in line with indexation, according to AHPRA, which announced new fees for all registered health practitioners this week.

The fees have been frozen for seven other health professions: Aboriginal health, Chinese medicine, chiropractic, occupational therapy, optometry, osteopathy and podiatry.

Nurses, pharmacists and physiotherapists will all face fee hikes greater than the rate of indexation.
