Doctors regain control of glaucoma care

Doctors have successfully fought off a bid by optometrists to diagnose and treat glaucoma independently.

The resolution ends an 18-month legal and political stoush, after the Optometry Board of Australia announced in March last year that endorsed optometrists no longer needed medical supervision to treat uncomplicated glaucoma.
