Doctors take a stand on asylum seekers

It's a debate that goes on daily across Australia, at lunch tables, community meetings, offices, supermarket checkouts or while sitting on a bus.

The subject is raised between total strangers or friends, and opinions are often poles apart. Almost everyone has an opinion. We’re talking about refugees or asylum seekers — also known as boat people, unauthorised maritime arrivals, over-stayers, detainees, and more recently as decreed by government officials, illegals.
