Doubt continues over spinal manipulation

Employing spinal manipulation to treat acute low-back pain appears to be no more effective than “sham or fake” spinal manipulation, an updated Cochrane review has declared.

The findings are another blow to the chiropractic profession in Australia, throwing doubt on the efficacy of a key part of their care currently subsidised through Medicare and private health insurance rebates.
