Last month, Dr Anthony Fauci went before a US Senate committee where he was told to account for his role in aiding and abetting “the crime of COVID lockdowns”. 

For many, his crime is probably no greater than having the misfortune of being a former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in a political system that seems to have gone mad.

But despite his silence, he was still subject to a one-sided, three hour grilling, which at various points mutated into attempts at public humiliation.
