Is eating placenta a good idea?

Mothers who eat placenta in the belief it will give them a much-needed energy boost in the postpartum period should consider other nutritional sources, research suggests.

Known as placentophagy, proponents of this increasingly popular trend believe it offers numerous advantages, including high levels of dietary iron, improved mood and more rapid postpartum recovery.
