Efficient, coordinated primary health is the aim

Calls from the federal treasurer to provide pre-budget submissions for 2012–13 provided a welcome opportunity to address these issues, in addition to other key identified areas of need. 

The RACGP sought member feedback prior to drafting its submission, keen to capture the daily challenges and opportunities facing GPs at a grassroots level. 

Feedback varied, with the need for a comprehensive review of the readiness for a personally controlled electronic health record (PCEHR) a commonly raised issue, to the desperate need to revisit mental healthcare delivery and funding models.
