Even $10 can sway prescribing, says RACGP

The RACGP is pushing for doctors to be publicly named if they accept payments of as little as $10 in value from pharmaceutical companies, arguing the payments are influencing prescribing patterns.

The college’s position comes as the pharmaceutical industry embarks on plans to publish details of payments from companies to health professionals relating to prescription medicines from 2016 onwards.
