Ex-AMA head duped by former lover

A former AMA president has been awarded damages after being conned into giving more than $300,000 to the fictitious friends of his younger male lover.

Dr David Weedon (pictured), a dermatopathologist who led the AMA in the mid-1990s, was fooled in to handing over cash by Paul Williams, who “invented” four other young gay men who needed assistance with rent, university fees, credit card debts and other expenses.
