Exclusive: PLAN is now voluntary after GP backlash

The RACGP council has bowed to pressure from its members and voted to reform its CPD program

The hugely unpopular self-reflection CPD activity - known as Planning, Learning and Need (PLAN) - will no longer be compulsory, with RACGP members free to ditch it altogether.

From Friday, doctors will be able to choose whether or not to continue participating in PLAN, after the college council on Wednesday night bowed to pressure from grassroots GPs and voted to make it voluntary for the rest of the triennium.
