Expired EpiPens are better than nothing
In an emergency, an expired EpiPen is probably better than nothing.
A small study shows adrenaline auto-injectors likely retain their potency for up to four years past their expiry date.
Of 40 EpiPens and EpiPen Jrs, collected from patients at a California clinic, none were discoloured and more than half retained at least 50% of their stated adrenaline up to 90 months after the stated expiry data.
