Fines will not stop quacks, say homeopathy critics

Public health campaigners have welcomed a $138,000 fine imposed on the promoter of "homeopathic vaccines" but say weak legislation is allowing unrepentant quacks to continue to promote ineffective and harmful products.

Homeopathy Plus has been fined $115,000 and its director, Fran Sheffield, $23,000 in a case brought by the ACCC over misleading and deceptive conduct related to claims about homeoprophylaxis for whooping cough.
