Fluvax linked to adverse events in adults

The influenza vaccine at the centre of the recent febrile convulsion scare in children has now been linked to an increased risk of adverse events among adolescents and adults.

In a safety review of seasonal flu vaccines, a Federal Government working group found the risk of adverse events following Fluvax was "modestly higher" than that of rival brands Vaxigrip and Influvac.
