FOI reveals how AHPRA spends its money

The documents, published on AHPRA’s website following an FOI request by the AMA, show that of the $115.2 million the national body received in registration fees from all health professionals, $43.4 million came from “medical practitioners”.

Of the $53 million of total AHPRA “staffing costs”, $21.8 million was spent on staff involved in overseeing doctors. Another $807,690 was spent on “travel and accommodation” for AHPRA staff engaged in “medical profession-related projects” and $5.7 million – or just 13% of total doctor registration fees – was spent on doctor
