Forced sterilisation debate intensifies

Parents of people with disabilities are clashing with human rights advocates over calls to criminalise forced sterilisation of the disabled.

Several parents of women with profound disabilities have written to the ongoing Federal senate inquiry examining the prevalence and circumstances surrounding forced sterilisations, saying they are fearful of their daughters becoming pregnant and giving birth to a child they cannot look after.
