Fragranced products causing untold misery
One-third of Australians react badly when exposed to common fragranced products, a University of Melbourne study shows.
The worst offenders are air fresheners, cleaning products, laundry supplies and personal care products.
Adverse health effects include breathing difficulties, headaches, dizziness, rashes, congestion, seizures and nausea.
The results mirror those from similar research conducted in the US, which found that 34.7% of people experienced health problems when exposed to fragranced products.
