Fried food a recipe for gestational diabetes

Women who favour a diet of takeaway fried food before conceiving increase their risk gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), a large study shows.

In an analysis of more than 21,000 singleton pregnancies, 847 GDM pregnancies were documented during 10 years of follow-up.
It shows that women who consume fried meals more than three times a week are at significantly higher risk than those who consume it less than once a week.
