Future of GP training remains in limbo

The future shape of general practice training in Australia remains in a state of limbo with the Federal Government offering little information on how the next generation of GPs will be trained.

Under the May budget reforms, the plug is being pulled on the 17 regional training providers (RTPs) next year, with contracts for running regional training put out to private tender.
