Gamers maximise their grey matter
Habitual video gamers may be sedentary much of the time but their brains are getting plenty of healthy exercise, say researchers.
A study by Australian and Chinese researchers finds that when it comes to cognitive ability, those who take their gaming seriously are inadvertently maximising their mental capacity.
The research shows that people who regularly play action video games have more grey matter and better connectivity in certain subregions of the brain than those who don’t play.
