Gas exploration blamed for health complaints

The government’s response follows comments from AMA Queensland president-elect Dr Christian Rowan that the association had been made aware of a concerning number of patients in CSG drilling areas west of Brisbane who claimed CSG activities were making them sick.

As MO went to press, authorities were monitoring patient presentations at Tara, Miles and Chinchilla hospitals, but Queensland Health Minister Lawrence Springborg said he was aware of just two cases linked to CSG mining.
