Labor’s pledge to end the Medicare freeze has been dubbed a 'gasp of air to a drowning man', amid claims it does little to fix the funding crisis gripping the specialty.

Labor will lift the freeze on all MBS rebates in January, if elected, in an attempt to ensure GPs continue to bulk-bill patients.
