General practice's longest-running research program is resurrected
BEACH: THE NEXT WAVE
The abrupt closure of the BEACH program in April last year brought to an end the world’s longest-running continuous general practice dataset, threatening a vacuum in the collection of reliable, independent information on primary care.
Now investigators from the University of Sydney, which has continued to fund the maintenance of the 18-year database, are resurrecting a new version of BEACH (Bettering the Evaluation and Care of Health) with data gathering expected to begin in 2018.
The new project, which is yet to be named,
