Get checked for hep C, baby boomers told

All baby boomers should receive one-off testing for hepatitis C to stem the rise of liver failure and cancer, a major US health agency has recommended.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the move could save more than a hundred thousand lives, in draft guidelines released on Friday which pushed for universal screening.

More than 2 million baby boomers were currently infected, accounting for more than 75% of all American
