Glasson says he’s no Maxine McKew

Former AMA president Dr Bill Glasson says he’s not a celebrity candidate like Maxine McKew despite being approached by the Liberal National Party to oust former prime minister Kevin Rudd from his Queensland seat.

Dr Glasson, who gained a national profile as president of the AMA between 2003 and 2005, told Australian Doctor this afternoon he was filling out forms for his nomination for LNP preselection in the seat of Griffith.

Dr Glasson, husband of RACGP President, Professor Claire Jackson, said the LNP had approached him for preselection.
