Finger pricks may be a thing of the past for people with diabetes if Google’s latest development becomes a reality.

The technology giant is working on a smart contact lense that will measure glucose levels in tears using a wireless chip and tiny glucose sensor embedded between two layers of soft contact lens material.

“We’re investigating the potential for this to serve as an early warning for the wearer, so we’re exploring integrating tiny LED lights that could light up to indicate that
