Government backs Chinese medicine initiative

The federal government is backing the manufacture and export of Chinese medicine, much to the chagrin of proponents of evidence-based science who question the morality of the decision.

In a bid to capitalise on growing export sales to China, the government on Thursday launched the first Chinese medicine research facility in the country, housed within the National Institute of Complementary Medicine and jointly run by Western Sydney and Beijing universities
