Govt backtracks on Better Access
In a dramatic u-turn the Federal Government is to lift the cap on the number of psychological counselling services for GP patients under Better Access, after controversially cutting them last year.
The Better Access program was gutted in a series of cost-saving measures. As part of its plan, the government reduced the number of psychological counselling sessions available from a maximum of 18 to just ten.
Psychologists and doctors condemned the government warning, saying that the move would damage patient recovery - with the new cap reducing treatment for
