Govt budget should focus on life-saving medicine: AMA

AMA president Dr Andrew Pesce has warned the Government’s budget focus on GP super clinics and Medicare Locals could make life-saving medicines and diagnostic testing unaffordable for some patients.

Dr Pesce said the Government would lose all health reform credibility if it pursued “speculated budget savings” by cutting patient services while spending up on super clinics and Medicare Locals.
